Born in Montreal, Lise St-Cyr has studied at Sherbrooke University and was formed in private classes. She has started her watercolor debuts as a portraitist and executed more than 60 portraits since 1991. She discovers watercolor on canvas in 2005. Different from paper, this support brings her spontaneity and freedom. She is inspired by her world trips, the different themes that live in her.
In 2008 she explores Paverpol sculpture, a Holland medium of which she became the Quebec distributor, in charge of training teachers and in 2016 became Paverpol Importer for Canada. With her husband Michel as a partner she has created an incorporated company for this business “Momification inc”, www.momificationart.com
Some of her sculptures evoke freedom, whereas others will simply embrace motherhood, as she constantly feels the need to honor the values of nurturing and protecting.
Lise St-Cyr has done many solo and group exhibitions and is represented in several galleries in Quebec and Miami and Portugal. She is a member of the Canadian Watercolor Association, Figurative Art Institute and the Lakeshore Association of artists.
